Teenager called ‘f***ing lesbian’ and beaten in ‘homophobic attack’

Ellie-Mae Mulholland says she was attacked after confronting one of her 'friends' over ten pounds they owed her.

A teenager was called a ‘fucking lesbian’ and left covered in blood by her supposed friends after she asked for her £10 back.

Ellie-Mae Mulholland, 18, says the attack started when she asked someone she thought was ‘one of her friends’ to give back £10 she says she was owed.

The woman told her she never had the money and allegedly launched an attack yesterday afternoon along with another suspect, saying: ‘You and your girlfriend are going to get it ten times worse next time.’

Ellie-Mae, of Walsall Garth in west Hull, was taken to Hull Royal Infirmary to receive treatment for her injuries, her sister, Stevie-Leigh Ansell, told Hull Live.

She said: ‘My younger sister was out and about on her way home from one of her friend’s house. She had seen a couple of her friends, who are usually her friends, and one of them owed her a tenner and Ellie asked about it.

‘The lass said she never had it. Then they both beat her [Ellie-Mae] black and blue.

An 18-year-old girl has been left bloodied and ?black and blue? in an alleged homophobic attack in a street. Ellie-Mae Mulholland, of Walsall Garth, west Hull, says she was attacked after confronting ?one of her friends? over ten pounds they owed her before 4.30pm earlier today, July 8. The two attackers allegedly beat Ellie-Mae, calling her a ?f***ing lesbian? and saying ?you and your girlfriend are going to get it ten times worse next time?. Ellie-Mae has been taken to Hull Royal Infirmary to receive treatment for her injuries, her sister, Stevie-Leigh Ansell, told Hull Live.

‘Because she is gay they called her a ‘f***ing lesbian, you and your girlfriend are going to get it ten times worse next time’.

‘She thought they were her friends. All this happened while she was on the phone to her mum.’

Stevie-Leigh, 22, has posted pictures of the bloody injuries her sister suffered on Facebook.

She says that Ellie-Mae has been left with a busted nose, two black-eyes and two big lumps on her head.

‘Just by looking at her face they have had a really good go at her,’ she said. ‘I think is absolutely ridiculous.

‘I feel I cannot let this happen to my sister because she is gay. I just feel really helpless.

‘It is not okay, regardless if she is gay or not, to do this to an 18-year-old. It is absolutely disgusting.

‘This is something daft over a tenner and then all the gay stuff came out which I don’t see why it is such a problem.

‘As soon as they have an argument it is straight to her being a lesbian. Because she smokes they won’t take her cigarettes off her because they say they will get lesbian germs.

’ Stevie-Leigh says the police have been informed of the attack and of the names of the alleged suspects.

She urged anyone with more information to contact Humberside Police on 101.
