Ryu Hyun-jin will play for the Colorado Rockies on June 29 at Coors Field in Denver, Colorado.
But Coorsfield is not going to be his fourth 10-game challenge.
Coorsfield, located in Colorado, is located at an elevation of 1,600 meters above sea level. The higher the altitude, the lower the atmospheric pressure reduces the air resistance to the ball, and the batted ball goes about 10% farther away from the other pitches in the flat. In other words, it is more advantageous for the batter.
Ryu Hyun-jin was also poor at Coors Field. He has averaged 3 wins and averaged 7.56 ERA in four games. Especially after receiving shoulder and elbow surgery, he made three pitches and failed to exceed 5 innings.

하지만 경기가 진행되는 곳이 쿠어스 필드라 그의 네 번째 10승 도전이 만만치 않을 것으로 보인다.
콜로라도에 위치한 쿠어스필드는 해발 1600m 고지대에 위치해 있다. 고도가 높아질수록 기압이 낮아져 공에 대한 공기 저항이 줄어들고, 평지에 위치한 다른 구장에 비해 타구가 10% 정도 더 멀리 나간다. 즉, 타자에게 더 유리한 구장이라는 뜻이다.
류현진도 쿠어스 필드에선 부진했다. 통산 4경기를 치러 1승3패 평균자책점 7.56을 기록하고 있다. 특히 어깨, 팔꿈치 수술을 받은 이후에는 세 번 등판해 모두 5이닝을 넘기지 못하고 패전 투수가 됐다.
