'롯데호텔을 폭파시키겠다'는 협박전화를 건 30대 남성이 붙잡혀 경찰 조사를 받고 있다.
9일 경찰에 따르면 이날 오전 8시35분께 한 남성은 112로 전화해 "롯데호텔에 폭발물을 설치했다. 10초 뒤에 터진다"고 말했다.
이 전화로 경찰과 소방당국은 서울 중구 소공동 롯데호텔과 송파구 잠실동 롯데호텔월드 등지로 출동했다. 또 관할 경찰서와 경찰특공대 소방관, 롯데호텔 보안요원들까지 나서 호텔 내·외부를 수색했지만 폭발물로 보이는 물건은 발견되지 않았다.
문제의 전화를 걸었던 30대 남성은 경찰이 호텔을 수색 중이던 오전 9시40분께 경기도 시흥에서 검거됐다. 경찰조사 결과 이 남성은 정신질환자였고 부친 명의의 휴대전화로 장난전화를 건 것으로 밝혀졌다.
경찰은 이 남성을 위계에 의한 공무집행방해 혐의로 입건하고 정확한 의도 등에 대해 추가 조사 중이다.

The 30-year-old man who was calling the incident was arrested at 9:40 am in Siheung, Gyeonggi-do, when the police were searching for the hotel. Police investigated that the man was a mentally ill person, and that he was making a prank call on his cell phone.
Police are investigating this man for alleged interference with the execution of the official duty by hierarchy and precise intentions.
